Online Retail Store Controller and Operations Manager (Pasadena)

Layla Grayce is a well established, growing online home furnishings and children's boutique online store in Pasadena seeking an experienced controller and operations manager. Qualified candidates must possess the ability to handle all aspects of accounting and operations as well as design, establish and maintain organizational structure to ensure efficient work flow and profitability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • All aspects of accounting - G/L, A/P, A/R
  • Daily posting of invoices and matching up purchase orders in Quickbooks
  • Vendor/supplier communication to reconcile discrepancies
  • Journal entries as required
  • Interpretation of financial statements and necessary tax documents
  • Reporting on P&L, balance sheet, payroll and tax reports
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow reports
  • Reconciliations for PO receivables, credit cards, operating and corporate bank accounts
  • Process quarterly sales tax returns
  • Track monthly/quarterly inventory
  • Handle vendor calls with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • weekly/monthly analysis of sales and top products
  • provide leadership for division initiatives and business practices
  • Identify & implement system efficiencies, cost containment
  • HR (health benefit plan, employee screening and files)

Requirements

  • PROFICIENT in internet navigation, Microsoft Word 2007, Office Outlook 2007, Quickbooks Enterprise
  • 5 + years accounting experience preferably in a retail environment
  • BA in Accounting or Finance required; MBA degree and/or CPA designation preferred
  • Experience in preparation of Operating Budgets/Financial forecasts
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have analytical and problem solving skills, be well organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Possess excellent communication, composition, spelling and time management skills
  • Must demonstrate professional phone etiquette
  • Fluent in English both verbal and writing with strong articulation
  • Independently motivated with a positive, team player attitude
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to the needs of a growing company

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
