A Thomas Paul rug features an exquisite design in a striking pattern that is sure to set your home apart from the rest. His design concept is to fuse unrelated historic design styles -- art nouveau, 60's pop art, 70's minimalism, 18th century baroque -- and reinterpret these disparate periods in to a unique style with a coordinated color palette that works with today's interiors. This rug is hand tufted from 100% New Zealand wool which is considered to be the most premium level wool that combines the maximum sheen with the highest longevity. It provides a soft and thick luxurious feel, is strong, resilient and static resistant making it an ideal choice for a high-traffic area. A hand-tufted rug is created without tying knots into the foundation but rather by pushing wool or acrylic yarn through a primary backing, creating a 'tuft.' Then, using a latex glue to hold the 'tufts' in place, a rugmaker will apply a secondary foundation which is then covered by a third and final cloth backing to protect your floor. The final step involves shearing the tops of the looped tufts to create the pile. This is considered a handmade product and some difference in color, size or shape is consistent with the nature of a handmade product and does not reflect a defect in the product. Rug is available in the following sizes: 3' x 5', 2.6' x 7.6' runner, 5' x 7'6", 7.9' round, 7.9' x 10.6'.
