Holiday Tablescape Giveaway from Layla Grayce
Photography and styling by Kate Landers

Pom Pom at Home Olivier Napkin SetPom Pom at Home Lily Table Cloth, Pom Pom at Home Crown White Plate SetStemless Basic Glass Set of 4, Personalized Eclectic Place Setting Set of 5

Kate Landers here again, excited to share with you a lovely rustic and elegant holiday tablescape. As so many of us are planning gatherings with family and friends this time of year, I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to provide you with inspiration for your holiday entertaining! Styling this table with so many gorgeous products from Layla Grayce was an utter delight, and I can’t wait to share. Read on for more details on how to set your table in a sophisticated yet understated way this season.

P.S. Scroll down below to learn how you can win all of the Layla Grayce products featured in this post!

1. Long & Low Centerpiece:

This centerpiece was chosen because it is conducive to conversation. Keeping it long and low allows everyone at the table to have something beautiful to enjoy, without obstructing views, keeping the table open for all to engage.

Here I opted for natural elements, including birch pillars, a mix of muted greenery, and faux antlers coated with clear glitter for a festive look. This blend creates a striking look that is perfect from fall all the way through winter. If you wish to add a bit more sparkle, I suggest mercury glass votives filled with white candles for minimalist glam.

 2. Natural Table Linen:

I have been a big fan of Pom Pom At Home’s beautiful table linens for years. Their Olivier napkins present crisp white linen, a stunning trim and generous size. I think any guest would be delighted to wear one in their lap! The Lily tablecloth is a true work of art. With natural linen and a ruffle trim, this generously sized table covering adds incredible warmth to not only the table but also the entire room. A mix of natural and white linen gives a soft yet stunning contrast. Linen itself is an exquisite fabric that feels comforting and inviting while maintaining luxurious look.

3. White Place Settings:

I have always believed that white tableware is a tremendous investment. It is incredibly versatile and works for any event with any color scheme, casual or formal. From appetizers and salads to the main course or dessert, serving on white allows the meal to take center stage. The white crown plates from Pom Pom At Home look more beautiful in person than I could have imagined. The generously sized chargers with scalloped details really give each place setting just what you need for a polished look—you won’t miss the fussy extra details of more complicated fabrics.

4. Classic Stemware:

Another great investment is traditional and classic stemware. Again, these are incredibly versatile for a wide variety of occasions. These thick, substantial glasses used for this table pleasantly surprised me—they are not made of glass! I am in love with them. They have a clean look, weighty feel in your hands, and best of all, are friendly for children and adults alike. As a mother to a toddler, I have started wondering where these glasses have been all my life—family gatherings simply seem more complete with them!

5. Eclectic Flatware:

Who knew that your flatware could bring so much style to a table? Don’t be afraid to mix various sets of silverware or flatware, so long as they are all made of the same material. With these eclectic place settings, you’ll see a mix of a variety of patterns, shapes and designs (even a monogram!) for a look that is sure to strike up conversation among your guests. I envision even a fork will remind someone of their grandmother’s silver or cause them to reminisce on that set they wish they registered for before their wedding. This set gives your table loads of style and a relaxed yet refined finish to a perfect place setting. If you can’t tell, I’m personally in love with these.

It was a sheer delight working with so many natural elements for this tablescape. The muted colors allowed for the variety of textures and patterns to really shine. It keeps the look stunning yet simple—very easy to recreate, allowing you to focus on what matters most.

Fiona Walker England Wall Decor from Layla Grayce

As much as we love traditional children’s designs on their own, Fiona Walker’s lovely and distinctive collection of handmade bookends, wall hooks, and decorative accessories bring a warm touch of mix and match style to a room. For the zoo-obsessed little one, these plush animal accents delight with vibrant, youthful personality and statement design.

Playfully imitating head wall mounts frequently seen in rustic or country-themed design, Fiona Walker’s wall décor adds eye-catching, adorable sophistication with handmade appeal. Eco-friendly wool felt covers each of these fixtures, spanning from a charming, fluffy sheep to an archaic triceratops for the dinosaur-infatuated tot. Either way, the Fiona Walker England collection has just the creative creature you’re looking for!

Anniversary Week Celebrations: Redford House

Redford House Giveaway and Q&A from Layla Grayce

Out with the old-fashioned, in with new style! Redford House modernizes antique pieces with contemporary and transitional twists, perfect for stylish interiors. This fabulous line shines with a wide variety of artisan furnishings and accessories, ranging from regal bedroom pieces to dressers, desks, hutches, and chairs in hand-distressed finishes. Time-honored construction and passion revere Redford House as a true gem, boasting authenticity in the gorgeous aesthetic and design of their pieces. Read below for the inside scoop from the woman behind it all, Samantha McClure, as she reveals her favorite moments with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years!

Q&A with Owner and Creative Director, Samantha McClure

Layla Grayce: What is your name, title, and how long have you been with Redford House?
Samantha McClure:
My name is Samantha McClure. I’m the owner and creative director of Redford House. I founded Redford House eighteen years ago in 1996.

LG: When and why did you decide to showcase your brand on Layla Grayce?
SM: I met Tiffany and Wendy at the High Point Market in 2004, when they were just starting out. They came to the Redford House showroom to look at our furniture line and were the first online furniture retailer to talk to us about selling our product on the Internet. I was very impressed with the two of them creating an online furniture retail start-up. I had a great rapport with Tiffany and Wendy, and I hoped for the best. Ten years later, Layla Grayce is one of the best partners Redford House works with.

LG: How has your brand and its style/offerings changed over the years?
SM: Our first catalog predominantly offered distressed cottage furniture, but our product line has evolved into a more transitional design vision. In the beginning, the Redford House line was inspired by French antique, New England coastal, and country styles. We started with very traditional design roots. Over the years, there has been a strong revival of mid-century modern furniture. We’ve had a lot of fun evolving with furniture trends and exploring transitional design principles.

LG:  Where do you see your brand 10 years from now?
SM: It’s an honor to be in the great industry of furniture manufacturing, and Redford House will always strive to be respected and relevant. I can’t say exactly where Redford House will be since we focus on the present, and we live and design in the moment. Furniture design is similar to other art forms in that you often know where your inspiration comes from, but you don’t always know where it’s going to take you. The future is a wide-open canvas, an adventure, and I’m excited to see where it will take Redford House.

LG: What is your favorite memory working with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years?
SM: My favorite moment was our first meeting with Tiffany and Wendy in the High Point Market. I really liked them both. Ten years later, Layla Grayce is the model for online retail success. Tiffany and Wendy deserve all the success they have enjoyed. Everyone on the Layla Grayce team has been great to work with!

Q&A with Jane Boatman Geller and Greg Geller

Layla Grayce: What is your name, title, and how long have you been with Boatman Geller?
Jane Boatman Geller:
I’m Jane Boatman Geller, founder, owner and designer of Boatman Geller. I started the company in the fall of 2001.
Greg Geller:
I’m Greg Geller, President of The Boatman Group.

LG: When and why did you decide to showcase your brand on Layla Grayce?
Greg: Layla Grayce came to us requesting the brand in 2004.

LG: How has your brand and its style/offerings changed over the years?
Jane: We have diversified our products lines a lot. We have expanded from paper to personalized home, desk, and gift products. The look of our design has shifted over the years, but at its core, it remains a classic plus preppy combo.

LG:  Where do you see your brand 10 years from now?
Jane: The fun part of having a look that is slightly trendy, yet always classic, is that it designs itself in a lot of ways. I think our look in 10 years will be similar to what we have now, just fresher (of course!). The biggest changes will likely be on the production side of things as more and more surfaces are available to personalize. I hope to explore soft goods (like pillows!) in the near future!

LG: What is your favorite memory working with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years?
Jane: My favorite memory is reaching out and talking to Wendy on her cell phone in Atlanta and getting a better understanding of the business, how it was started (GREAT story of two Southern California girls!), and how the other sites work together. Then, I found out we were going to be at the Atlanta Gift Mart.
Greg: Meeting Wendy and her team at the show in January of 2010 and the business partnership that has evolved from there is my favorite memory.

Q&A with Michelle Koffler, Director of Marketing and Sales

Layla Grayce: What is your name, title, and how long have you been with Bella Notte?
Michelle Koffler:
I’m Michelle Koffler, Director of Marketing and Sales. I have worked for Bella Notte for two years and have known the owners for 27 years!

LG: When and why did you decide to showcase your brand on Layla Grayce?
MK: Layla Grayce has carried our line since 2005 (nearly 10 years!). We were drawn to the website overall, the ease of use, and the fact that the luxury experience Layla Grayce provides users closely mirrors the mission of our brand. We also feel the other brands on the site like Ro Sham Beaux and Eloquence harmonize well with Bella Notte. In fact, we share the same customers.

LG: How has your brand and its style/offerings changed over the years?
MK: Bella Notte has always been soft and romantic with a vintage feel. More and more, we are incorporating looks that have a timeless aesthetic, and our colors have really softened as well. With every year, we become more confident and versatile in our manufacturing process to ensure the construction of each piece has more detail, and we are pushing the way we use texture and tone. Our designer Kathleen McCoy began with a background in fashion, so Bella Notte is notably open to translating trends, willing to adapt and try new things, move out the old, and push the boundaries of home textiles while maintaining our signature collections. If we keep the common theme of relaxed luxury and a bit of romance, we find that each new introduction fits seamlessly with the tried and true favorites.

LG:  Where do you see your brand 10 years from now?
MK:
Bella Notte would like to see more of an International following. Our fabrics are sourced globally which we feel gives the line an adaptable aesthetic that we could see in Paris, Australia, Korea, and beyond. We feel strongly about always providing vintage-inspired heirloom pieces and staying consistent with the quality our customers expect from us. We have retailers that have carried our line for 18 years, and they have been willing to mature with Bella Notte, which we expect to see for years to come.

LG: What is your favorite memory working with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years?
MK: I was able to visit Layla Grayce’s warehouse with our rep, Laurie Larson, before Layla Grayce moved to its current new location. We had a design meeting on the stairwell! I felt a kindred spirit, as Bella Notte is based out of a small warehouse as well, and we pride ourselves in creating a lot out of a little. I was able to talk about upcoming introductions and get feedback from key stakeholders, which always means a lot to me. I was impressed by the knowledge and kindness of the customer service staff and excited by being behind the scenes. Tiffany showed us photos of her kiddies dressed up in the most adorable 1920s style outfits! Because we are a family owned business, connecting with our customers on a personal level means a lot.

Giveaway closes November 7, 2014, at midnight PST. Winner will be selected at random and announced on November 10, 2014. Click here for official Layla Grayce contest rules.

Q&A with Newport Cottages’ founder Pockets Alvarez

Layla Grayce: What is your name, title, and how long have you been with Newport Cottages?
Pockets Alvarez:
I’m Pockets Alvarez, the Founder and CEO of Newport Cottages. My wife and I founded the company in 1999. We’re now in our 15th year and still love what we do

LG: When and why did you decide to showcase your brand on Layla Grayce?
PA: We met Layla Grayce co-founders Wendy and Tiffany when they first launched Layla Grayce 10 years ago. We were so impressed by their big dreams and their energetic entrepreneurial spirit. From the beginning, we noticed that Layla Grayce was focused on quality products and striving for top-notch customer service. It was definitely something we wanted to be a part of.

LG: How has your brand and its style/offerings changed over the years?
PA: Newport Cottages was created from a desire to offer artisan crafted, USA-made furniture. Our first collections were designed with a very traditional, coastal cottage feel: hand-turned posts, inlaid panels, and bead-board designs. Over the years, our collections have evolved to include some transitional and contemporary designs. However, we remain true to the founding principles of quality hardwood construction and continue to manufacture right here in Southern California.

LG:  Where do you see your brand 10 years from now?
PA:
I see Newport Cottages expanding into other rooms of the home, beyond providing great furniture for nurseries and children’s rooms. We would also include accent pieces, occasional tables, and other furnishings made with the same handcrafted, USA-made quality for which we are known. Our pieces are currently distributed throughout the USA and in select countries abroad. I would love to be able to offer our furniture to more countries around the world.

LG: What is your favorite memory working with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years?
PA: We have so many great memories with Layla Grayce, but perhaps what stands out the most is the time we first met and comparing that time to where we all are now. We have seen our families grow with the addition of babies. We’ve shared stories of our children, while at the same time finding the energy and strength to grow our businesses together. The past 10 years have been my favorite memory so far, and I look forward to another 10.

Layla Grayce: What is your name, title, and how long have you been with Pine Cone Hill?
Annie Selke: I’m Annie Selke, Founder and CEO. I’ve been with the company since the beginning!

LG: When and why did you decide to showcase your brand on Layla Grayce?
AS: Tiffany and Wendy contacted Pine Cone Hill while Layla Grayce was still in its infancy, and from our initial conversations, it was obvious that they had a clear vision for their new brand. This made the decision to showcase our products with them very easy.

LG: How has your brand and its style/offerings changed over the years?
AS: We’ve expanded our selections dramatically since the beginning while staying true to style-driven design and superior quality. We also introduced Dash & Albert rugs to the world a little over 10 years ago along with Fresh American—a collection of sassy yet practical home items, with a focus on indoor/outdoor use in 2013.

LG:  Where do you see your brand 10 years from now?
AS: I envision making more homes happy with products that stand the test of time. In early 2015, we will be launching a luxury brand that will include Exquisite Italian/European bed linen, gorgeous wool, and silk carpets and upholstered headboards. We have also recently introduced Dash and Albert to Europe, and we plan to expand globally.

LG: What is your favorite memory working with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years?
AS: It’s hard to think of a memory that isn’t up there as a favorite. Tiffany and Wendy have been such positive partners to work with over the years, and we always have more than a few laughs when we get together. One that stands out is when I had the opportunity to host them for a visit at our offices in the Berkshires in Massachusetts. It was lovely to show them our offices and have them meet everyone involved in the process at Pine Cone Hill. My dog Dash fell in love with them—he always did favor gorgeous blondes!

Q&A with Bob Ulrich; VP Sales

Layla Grayce: What is your name, title, and how long have you been with Currey & Co?
Bob Ulrich: I’m Bob Ulrich, VP of Sales. I’ve been with Currey & Company for 20 years.

LG: When and why did you decide to showcase your brand on Layla Grayce?
BU: I believe we began around 2005 with Layla Grayce. Unlike most internet retailers, Layla Grayce was interested in having a “point of view.” I really liked their concept of “merchandising” our product on their site.

LG: How have your brand and its style/offerings changed over the years?
BU: We are always changing. Outdoor furniture is at the root of our business 25 years ago (under the name GardenSource). Our initial designs were part of a significant licensing program (Bob Timberlake, Historic Charleston, Smithsonian, Winterthur). While these licensing programs were successful, they were also limiting in terms of design and product categories. Robert and Suzy Currey decided to expand the offering and create what is now Currey & Company. We quickly began to develop our “own” designs and expanded our product categories to include lighting and furniture. We continue today to evolve and expand our product offering to include lighting, furniture, upholstery, mirrors, and rugs. Within those categories, we continually strive to be on trends in style and color.

LG:  Where do you see your brand 10 years from now?
BU: Tough to answer, but I believe we are on the right path to grow our product offerings, people, and remain relevant to our industry.

LG: What is your favorite memory working with Layla Grayce over the past 10 years?
BU: I would say the people that run Layla Grayce have been truly wonderful partners and couldn’t be more professional and easy to do business with over the years!
