Get The Look: The Great Gatsby
We’ve all been anxiously awaiting the release of The Great Gatsby, and today (finally!), the widely anticipated film opens in theatres. From the extravagant costumes to the stunning soundtrack to the elaborate set design, Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the classic novel is sure to be a visual masterpiece.
Our team is completely smitten with the lavish sets of the Jazz Age film. Designer Catherine Martin re-created the 1920s aesthetic of Daisy and Gatsby’s homes with a beautiful collection of Art Deco furniture and décor.
Glittering chandeliers, ornate rugs and grand silver candelabras capture the period’s drama and Hollywood glamour.
Each of the 42 individual sets tells a piece of the timeless tale. The title character, Jay Gatsby, resides in a manor outfitted with sweeping staircases, luxurious crystal chandeliers and sconces and polished hardwood floors, perfect for throwing his over-the-top parties.
As impressed as we are with the overall 1920s vibe of each space, we’re equally excited about each individual, perfectly placed accessory. From gilded tabletop pieces to party tables decorated with the era’s popular desserts, no detail is missed.
The striking architecture and décor of the Art Deco period is captured with bold geometric rug patterns, sleek upholstered seating and touches of glimmering gold at every turn.
Swooning over these opulent 1920s set designs? We’ve created a collection of our favorite Gatsby-inspired products to get the film’s look in your home!
