In the busy, chaotic days leading up to Christmas, we were delighted to discover the serenity and elegance of this 100 year old home in North Sealand, Denmark. Simple swags of pine, glittering lights and candles are all that is needed to transform fashion designer Jeanett Ulrich’s neutral inspired decor into a tasteful holiday showplace. White walls, high-gloss lacquered woodwork and shiny ceilings with exposed beams reflect the winter light and snow, while sparkling accents of silver and gold are artfully displayed throughout the house. The combination of clean, modern pieces mixed with classics is like a breath of fresh, pine scented air this holiday season – merry minimalism!

A passion for vintage knows no borders. A continent away, Swedish decorator and designer Nina Hartmann-Sundgren shares her home in Angelholm where neutral hues of white, beige and gray bridge the gap between old and current. Catching our eye is her use of benches, both as a coffee table in the sitting area and in the entry way paired with family treasures. While Nina’s pieces come from arduous scouring of antique and flea markets across Europe, we’ve pulled together some of our favorites to get the look in your own home. Soft white upholstery mixes with burnished and weathered finishes in wood and lighting to create rooms that practically say “Valkömmen.”

Winter Skies

Winter Skies
As the days get shorter and shorter, shadows longer and longer, the chilly hues of winter afternoons can’t help but inspire. Greys, blues and silvers get a touch of blush and butter as the sun sinks lower in the sky. Sure it’s cold outside, but inside the beauty of a winter sky warms us to the core.

Winter Skies
Get the look at home with Swedish-inspired furnishings as your base, then augment them using pieces with shimmering modern edge. Prevent things from feeling to chilly by layering throw pillows and a cozy throw, then slip into some sweet nothings and sip cocoa as the light slips under the horizon.

Oh My – But You Are A Pretty Piece Of Furniture

European Classics

And such character too! Is this some treasured antique? A find from recent European travels? For everyone who craves home furnishings inspired by the classics (with a little twist), we are thrilled to introduce our new European Classics collection of furniture, lamps and accessories. The styling? We like to think of it as classic with a few quirks thrown in. You?Äôll find traditional Swedish, French and Italian design details, but the results are anything but tired and boring. The finishes are richly layered and textured, aged and antiqued in a stunning selection of colors and effects, often accented with painted details. Most pieces are hand built from mahogany, and because this is an eco-sensitive modern line, the artisan is committed to a “1 for 1″ replanting program that replaces every tree used to produce each product. How cool and green is that? What we really love is how seamlessly any of these items works with a wide range of decorating styles, from quiet and sophisticated to eclectically colorful. Check out all the European Classics offerings and get inspired!
