This gorgeous home in the hills outside Los Angeles features a gorgeous mix of vintage French and Scandinavian furniture, creating a beautiful retreat from the hustle of LA life. The owners of this home took out several walls, along with some less-than-stellar green carpet, and opened up the kitchen to create a lofty and spacious home. Create your own calm, white oasis using some of our favorite french-inspired brands, Zentique and Eloquence.

The home of interior designer and stylist Rosy Strazzeri-Fridman mixes gorgeous vintage and vintage-inspired finds with carefully selected lucite pieces. We love how the transparency of the lucite chair and coffee table helps them blend with the rest of the home, while still providing a touch of modernity. This lovely home is an example of being able to mix two styles you love, without sacrificing harmony in your environment!

In the busy, chaotic days leading up to Christmas, we were delighted to discover the serenity and elegance of this 100 year old home in North Sealand, Denmark. Simple swags of pine, glittering lights and candles are all that is needed to transform fashion designer Jeanett Ulrich’s neutral inspired decor into a tasteful holiday showplace. White walls, high-gloss lacquered woodwork and shiny ceilings with exposed beams reflect the winter light and snow, while sparkling accents of silver and gold are artfully displayed throughout the house. The combination of clean, modern pieces mixed with classics is like a breath of fresh, pine scented air this holiday season – merry minimalism!

“What color is your nursery?” is a common question heard by expectant mothers. House of Wentworth design blogger Amy Lambert Lee steered clear of color and created a sassy yet classy space to welcome her newborn daughter. Mirror adds a touch of glam to the room in the form of a changer/dresser and used as wall décor hung over the crib, while a romantic crib and button-tufted chair ooze traditional femininity. It’s a look we couldn’t resist building from our favorites in design, playing up the hint of linen against soothing white and matching the glam with our own mirrored pieces and chandelier.

And The Award (And $100 Giveaway) Goes To…

2011 Oscars

1. Gold Leaf with Crystal Shade Chandelier 2. Rosanna Dauphine Candlesticks 3. Josephine Starburst Gold Leaf Mirror 4.Bungalow 5 Polo Six Drawer Chest in White 5. Capel Orchard House Rings Maize Wool Rug 6. Serena and Lily Miramar Chair 7. Morocco G Hexagonal Side Table

Well, the 2011 Oscars are over and can we say we are a bit… underwhelmed? It all sounded so promising – less boring “filler” segments, two hip, hot young hosts to bring in a younger audience and so on. But somewhere along the way (in say, the first 5 minutes) it started going wrong and didn’t get a whole lot better. What was memorable for us? In a sea of actresses sporting red dresses, white came off as just right. We love ourselves a white moment at Layla Grayce, especially glam paired with gold which is so fitting for Hollywood’s biggest night. So plop yourself into our imagined white and gold interior and let us know:

Winter Skies

Winter Skies
As the days get shorter and shorter, shadows longer and longer, the chilly hues of winter afternoons can’t help but inspire. Greys, blues and silvers get a touch of blush and butter as the sun sinks lower in the sky. Sure it’s cold outside, but inside the beauty of a winter sky warms us to the core.

Get the look at home with Swedish-inspired furnishings as your base, then augment them using pieces with shimmering modern edge. Prevent things from feeling to chilly by layering throw pillows and a cozy throw, then slip into some sweet nothings and sip cocoa as the light slips under the horizon.

Winter white floral arrangements embody a look of classic timelessness, simplicity and elegance, and when paired with pinecones, immediately bring a sweet seasonal touch to your table. We’re in love with these simple floral compositions that even a novice could master – such a refreshing alternative to traditional red and green (and goodness knows we are fans of everything white!)

Christina Loucks AhumadaThese are the creations of Christina Loucks Ahumada, floral designer, stylist and proprietor of Atlanta GA based floral design company, Anora Grey. A true multi-tasker, Christina is also collaborating on Neutral Hue, a site dedicated to the “love of neutral” that will be launching soon. And if you are in the Atlanta area on Saturday, December 11th you can catch Christina at the Lavish Experience event. Not only will she be a featured speaker, but will also be styling the flowers and decor for the Rue Magazine party that follows, sponsored by HGTV. We can’t wait to feature more of Christina’s work in the coming year!
